Synopsis

Steven Spielberg’s thrilling drama The Post is set in the early 1970's. The movie features Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks in lead roles along with Sarah Paulson, Bob Odenkirk, Tracy Letts, Bradley Whitford, Bruce Greenwood, Carrie Coon and Matthew Rhys. Based on a true event, the story revolves around Katharine Graham of The Washington Post who was also the first female publisher of a major American newspaper. Ben Bradlee, the Editor of the paper becomes a crucial part of the story as he along with Katharine races to catch up with The New York Times in order to expose a massive cover-up of the government secrets spanned across a period of three decades and under four U.S. Presidents. Spielberg’s ode to journalism has won 6 nominations at the prestigious Golden Globe awards.
